It’s hard to believe we’ve been organizing and celebrating our UCLA EX Reunions for over 35 years now!
As the years have passed many people have asked me “how is it that you get together with all your UCLA EX Fraternity Brothers after all these years’ ‘?
I explain to them that what has kept us in touch and “connected” is a common thread that was at the forefront when we joined Delta Eta and has remained steadfast to this day.
I believe that common thread was and will always be the way that our parents raised us.
It’s unquestionable that we were ALL very blessed to be in the house at the time we were with the incredible cast of characters!
Year after year when we get together we realize we’re just retelling the same stories again because they get better each time and bring even more joy.
As we laugh, we always comment on the fact that those years together taught us to be loyal to your bros, be respectful of others, don’t ever take yourself too seriously, support others when they need help, have a sense of humor, don’t forget classes, and last but not least,..have fun together!
I believe these were the same traits our parents had already taught us which were instrumental in helping us bond together and build such close friendships.
So, at least in my opinion, the basis of our upbringings is what has kept us so close for nearly 50 years now,..FIFTY!
As the years pass I always pray that everyone stays healthy and continues to come together with those same great stories.
We never know what tomorrow will bring but one thing is for sure,..we can always count on the special friendships we made at 459 Gayley Ave.
